Tue, 2 May, 2017 : Following talks with transport minister Thomas Chandy, employees of KSRTC’s mechanical division, agreed to end their strike that began today.
Implementation of Susheel Khanna report and uncertainty over prolonged duty hours at night upset several employees, the minister said.
Mislaid fears about having to be on one-month continuous night duty, gave rise to present protest, he added.
Changes that will help make night shifts less oppressive too shall be introduced, Chandy told the media.
Representatives of all unions, transport minister and KSRTC MD Rajamanikam, participated in the concluding round of talks held today.
