CPM workers’ murder celebration video falsified : Kumnanm to face libel charges

Kummanam Rajashekaran, BJP state president, stands his ground that the video showing CPM workers celebrating Biju Choorakad's killing is genuine.

Trouble brews for BJP state president Kumnanam Rajasekharan, as the video claiming to show CPM workers celebrating RSS activist Biju Choorakad’s murder in Kannur  has been labeled fake. Slamming the video as deliberate mischaracterisation, Kannur SFI president Muhammed Siraj has filed libel for falsified propaganda to  incite violence and public outrage.

Rajashekaran had earlier tweeted the unverified video endorsing  his blame of CPM workers as  main plotters behind the murder of Biju, on Friday where unidentified persons had hacked him to death at Payyanur in Kannur district. Biju is the 12th accused in CPM worker Dhanaraj’s killing in July last year and was provided police security until last week.

In response to the killing of its partyman,  BJP had called for a dawn-to-dusk Hartal next day, crippling life in the district.

Heaping criticisms on Pinarayi-led govt, Rajashekaran pointed out that Biju’s killing was the 8th political murder since the new govt. assumed power last year.  In continued response, Rajeshekaran demanded that Kannur be clamped with Armed Forces Special Powers Act(AFSPA).

Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan had hinted at a function 2 days ago that BJP’s false propaganda is far-fetched and the party might consider approaching court for Rajashekaran’s continued onslaught.

Meanwhile Rajashekaran maintains that the visual footage is genuine and  he is willing to be arrested or jailed for bringing it out.
