Assembly Uproar : Kapil Mishra violently dragged out by AAP legislators

I was punched, kicked and dragged by AAM Party MLAs beat and kicked me, says Kapil Mishra

Sacked Aam Admi Party(AAP) minister Kapil Mishra was manhandled by the party legislators and dragged out of the Delhi Assembly, where high drama unfolded today.

It started when deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia attempted to calm an opposition leader’s allegation on shortage of medicines in city’s government hospitals. Unexpectedly, Mishra sprang up from his seat and told the speaker  a meeting discuss corruption inside AAP, should be held in Ramlila Maidan, Delhi.

The speaker  cautioned him against speaking out of turn. A defiant Mishra unfurled a banner, displaying his demand to hold corruption debate.

At this point the speaker said the act defied dignity of the assembly and asked marshals to remove Mishra from the session. A few AAP leaders in proximity jumped at the opportunity and in the attempt to forcibly remove Mishra, a scuffle ensued.

“As I got up from my seat, they started hitting me. They used their hands and legs. Your cameras saw it all,” Mishra said. “Usually marshals are called to remove a member from the House. This must have been the first time that MLAs were called” he called.

In a hint to pursue the incident , Mishra said “I saw the face of two MLAs Madan Lal and Jarnail Singh. I demand that footage of Vidhan Sabha proceeding be released,”

Distancing himself from controversy, the speaker Ram Niwas Hoel said the incident was ‘unfortunate’ and that the (AAP) members should not have left their seat and approached Mishra.
