Naik Muddasar Ahmed, a 37-year-old Indian soldier, died of injures sustained during heavy mortar shelling by Pakistan in Poonch sector Jammu today, Monday.

Mortar shells that landed on his bunker previously injuring Naik who died on  being shifted to the MI room.

A  8-year-old girl too was caught up in the same shelling and died on the spot.
According to reports another woman too suffered injuries in shelling in Panjgraian village on the border and has been shifted to Rajouri hospital for treatment.

The attack was unprovoked and there was indiscriminate firing using small arms, automatics and morters from Bimber Gali sector along LoC, said the Indian army in a statement.

Ahmed hailed from Duchoo village of Tral, Kashmir.
