Now Indians and 80 other nationals can travel to Qatar without visa

India and 79 other countries will be allowed visa-free entry for its citizens by Qatar, as part of a programme to encourage air transport and tourism amid two-month boycott imposed on the Gulf state by its neighbours.

Nationals from India, several countries in Europe, Lebanon, New Zealand, South Africa, United States and elsewhere only need tp present a valid passport to enter Qatar which is slated to host the soccer World Cup in 2022.

Oil major Saudi Arabia along with Egypt, Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates imposed a boycott on Qatar on June 5 and severed all transport links with the country, blaming the gas rich country of terrorism and closeness to Iran.
